Maggie was born in 1929. She was the daughter of Otter Nofire and Elsie Scott. [1]

She married Andy Studie.

Maggie's first language was Tsalagi (Cherokee); according to her obituary she taught herself to speak English. [2] She was a signer of the Cherokee Speaker Roll, a record of the names of the last living Cherokees who are able to speak the language with fluency. It was her preferred language and she enjoyed sharing it with others.

She was a participant in protests against the construction of the Blackfox nuclear plant at Inola, Oklahoma. She passed away in 2021. She is buried at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Collinsville, Oklahoma. [3]
