Obituary: Orfordville-Ogden A. Hillison, Sr., age 85, died Wed., April 24, 2002, at the Beloit Memorial Hospital. He was born on Aug 24, 1916, in Clinton Twp., Rock Co., WI, the son of Ommond and Magda (Gunderson) Hillison. Ogden married Ida Borkenhagen on Dec 31, 1938 in Dubuque, IA. He was a 1941 graduate of Milton College and served with the US Army during WW II. He was a former employee of Fairbanks Morse, Beloit and he was retired from GMAC, Janesville. He was a member o the Plymouth United Methodist Church, where he was a trustee for several years, was a member of UAW Local #95, the Royal Neighbors of America, Moose Lodge #197 of Janesville, Orfordville American Legion, and the North Freedom Railroad Museum Assoc. He also served as a Plymouth Twp. constable.
Surviving are his wife, Ida; his 8 children: Ogden Jr. (Janet) of Orfordville; Janet (Jim) Deeds of Roscoe, IL; Barbara (Bill) Sather of Orfordville; Eileen of Madison; Louise (Bob) Humphries of Beloit; Adlai Sr. of Markle, IN; Keith, Sr. (Sheila) of Beloit; and Steven Sr. (Susie)of Monroe; 17 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandchild; 13 step grandchildren; a brother, Irving (Hazel) of Janesville; also many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Harold; 3 sisters, Carolyn, Murial and June; a grandaughter; and a grandson.
Funeral services will be held at Plymouth United Methodist Church, with Pastor James Hagden officiating, on Sat., April 27, 2002, at 11 a.m. Friends may call on Friday from 5 until 8pm at the Newcomer-Silverthorn Funteral Home, Orfordville. Burial will be in Plymouth Cemetery.
