Mr Olof Elon Osén, 16, was born 24 September 1895 the son of Erik Olsson Osén and Erika Didia Andersdotter he was from Ön, Hedesunda, Gästrikland, Sweden his siblings were: Erik, Berta, Olof, Einar, Addie, Judit, Östen and Elvin. His profession is unknown.

According to the White Star list he was on his way from Ön to Nils Tilberg, Ethan, South Dakota, according to the American senate list he was on his way to Mitchell, South Dakota.

He boarded the Titanic at Southampton as a third class passenger . He died in the sinking, his body was never found.

Olaf Osén came from a poor home, where three children had died at a young age. In 1914 another child Rut was born. The father, a labourer, had a stroke in November 1912 which according to a letter to consulate in London put his ability to work down with 50%. Because of that he was more in need of the support he had hoped from his son. When Olof had travelled he had borrowed 500 Kr, with his father as guarantor and he had promised to support his parents from USA.

The Mansion House Fund paid 875.52 Kr (£48) to parents 1366.50 Kr (£75) damage claims paid to parents 20 August 1914.
