Olaus Mürman

Olaus (Oluf) Myhrmann the older was by the way involved in a smaller rebellion in Sæby in 1818. The local Sæby-inhabitants protested against the arresting of a dean, who was accused of making unlawful accuses towards the local landlords and authorities. The rebellion involved a minor confrontation

between the locals and 20 of the kings soldiers, where stones were thrown against the soldiers. Thet had to get reinforcement from Aalborg with about 150 soldiers. Oluf was imprisoned on bread and water and he lost his business due to the fine he recieved.(Jørgen Mührmann-Lund)

”Faderen var Slagter som havde sit nødtørftige Udkomme og Tiltalte nød den for Børn af de lavere Klasser almindelige Opdragelse og Underviisning. Tiltalte har i Sverrig lært Garverprofessionen. 1801 kom Tiltalte til Kjøbenhavn hvor han noget over et halvt Aars Tid stod i Forbundt hos Garvermester Nentze paa Westergade. I denne Tid lod han sig engagere ved de Vestindiske Tropper med hvilke han dog ikke fulgte men i det Sted blev ansat ved 3die jydske Infanterieregiment 7de Musqveteercompagnie den 23 Octbr. 1801 hvorfra han blev afskediget den 20 Octbr. 1811. Medens Regimentet laae i Qvarteer i Aalborg arbeidede Tiltalte hos forskjellige Garvermestere og fulgte siden stedse Regimentet. Efter erholdt Afskeed kom Tiltalte til Sæbye hvor han etablerede sig som Garver og endnu driver denne Profession, hvorved han erhverver sit daglige Udkomme og intet mere. Tiltale og Straf i sin civile Stilling har Tiltalte ikke forhen lidt, derimod har han ved Regimentet i Aarene 1805 eller 1806 gaaet fiire Gange Spidsrod for Deeltagelse i nogle ved Toldsvig forefaldne Uordener.” (Forhørsprotokol vedr. optøjer i Sæby 1818)
