Ole "Big Ole" Jøgerson Helle

DEATH OF OLE J. HELLIE

Ole J. Hellie died Monday of paralysis at is home in Bancroft after an illness of about six months.
The funeral was held Tuesday at the East church in Bancroft. The interment was in the cemetery by the church. Ole J. Hellie was born March, 1839 in Valders, Norway. At the age of nineteen he came to this country and worked for awhile near Decorah, Iowa. He married to Miss Mary Haugen of Decorah, Iowa. In 1865 they moved to this county and settled on their farm in Bancroft. He leaves six children and his wife to mourn his loss. ~~~~~~ "Ole came to America in 1857 at the age of 18. Ole was naturalized May 1897. They lived on a farm in Bancroft, MN. Ole owned & Anton rented on the 1900 census. Albert & Gilbert Jacobson were brothers. Albert married Minnie and Gilbert married Ingeborg. Ole & Marit were the progenitors of over 500 descendants." ~~~~~~
