About Ole Johnson Dahl
https://nl.findagrave.com/memorial/19473971/ole-jonsen-dahl :
Ole J. Dahl was the son of Joe Odigard per his death record. His grandson Harold recalls that he recalled this name. Another family researcher who has done extensive research indicates that Ole was the son of John Engebretsen Rottemeie and Anne Olsdatter Raastadeie.
He was born in Vaagaa, Oppland, Norway on August 20, 1853. He married Anne S. Holmo in 1877 in the Vaaga Church. They had six children, with whom they immigrated to America.
The family genealogy states:
The Dalen farm was a tenant farm under the Lunde farm, where Ole and Anne settled down after they got married on November 9th 1876 in Vaga church. Ole was a tailor in addition to his work as a farmer.
Ole J. Dahl and Anne Halmo Dahl emigrated with Sofie and Ole to America in 1903, coming first to Hoffman Minnesota in the spring and Central Valley that fall. Ole was a tailor. One of their children, young Ole, walked to Pearson once weekly to pick up mail for the few families in the Valley. Later his bicycle expedited his trip.
The couples' five children included Anne (see Ringness history); Marie who married Olaf Walberg (Jacob Ringness brother) and their children, Hjalmer, Gerhard, Walter, Sigurd, Anna, Harold, Melvin; Joe who married Lena Odegard (from Sjaak Gudbrandsdalen, Norway) and their children are Ernest, Anna, George, Joe Jr., Lana an Mary Jane; Sophie married Chris Sandven and they had one son, Harold; Ole O married Thea Sivertson (Velly) and they had two sons, Olaf and Harold. (Olaf married Elaine Usitalo an Harold married Mary Lou Sampson). [source: Gunnar Ottosen of Vaga, Norway].
extracted from an article in The Sun, July 28, 1999: Fellow Old Timer Olaf Dahl, 78, will also be on hand at the picnic. A lifetime resident of Silverdale, his father, Ole Dahl, was elected mayor of Silverdale in 1945 - even though a simultaneous vote for cityhood fell through.
""He was known as the mayor without a city,"" Dahl laughed.
Like many Old Timers, Schold, Dahl and others make up a tightly knit community that the past decade of growth in Silverdale cannot erode. Goforth said she hopes more Silverdale residents will want to be part of that this year.
He died aged 63 on October 7, 1916 in Silverdale, Washington.
