Ole Estensen Sorjoten

Ole Estensen Sorjoten was from Rendalen, Norway where he worked on farms in that area. He did quite well as a farmer and when he came to Engerdal, he Married Kersti Semmingsdtr. Sletmoen on June 30th 1851, who was the daughter of Semming Sletmoen and she inherited the farm from her father Semming Sletmoen.

Ellen Fauske, a local Norwegian neighbor, told me that she grew up next door to the

Sletmoen farm also known as Gammeljordet. (The old field). The farm was divided into two parts when Embert sold Semming half the farm,

Kersti and Ola had six children. Two of them died at birth in Rendalen and the last one, my grandfather, Ole was born in Engerdal.
