In 1881 he was united in marriage to Anne Kristine Belling and their union was blessed with seven children. One son, Ole Andrias and one daughter, Anna, have preceded their father to the Eternal Home. In 1882 he came with his family to North Dakota and homesteaded on section 28, Litchvillle township, where he lived with his family until 1919, when he and his wife moved to Litchvillle, where he continued to live until death called him away. All his children, with the exception of Mrs. Peder Foss, who arrived too late, were at his bedside when death came. He was 75 years, 1 month and 18 days old. Surviving him are his widow, two sons, Nels Oscar and John C., three daughters, Mrs. Gust Belling and Mrs. Hans Belling whose homes are in the LItchville vicinity, and Mrs. Peder Foss, of Lustre, Montana, besides twenty-four grandchildren. Two brothers, Johan and Nicolas, are residing in Norway. The funeral was held from his home in Litchville on Monday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m., and from the North LaMoure church at 3 p.m. Rev. Fredrik Dahl, pastor of the church, and Rev. J. S. Sunde, of LItchville officiated. The pallbearers were: J. P. Berg, Andrew Olson, Ole J. Belling, Peter Larson, Thinn Smedshammer and Thorvald Smedshammer. Relatives and friends from a distance present at the funeral were the deceased’s daughter, Mrs. Peder Foss, and his grand-daughter, Bernice of Lustre, Montana; Gust Paulson and mother, Hannah Paulson, of Fort Ransom, Mr. and Mrs. Herman Paulson, of Nome; Mrs. Tom Norgaard of Kathryn; Mrs. Lars Larson, of Sanborn, and Mr. John Fenstad, of Valley City.
