About Ole Olsen Sørbøen

(Til Breidokk på Gol. Sidan til Am.) Ole was born in Sørbøen, Ål, Buskerud, Norway. He married his first wife, Margrit Torkjelsdtr. Opheim on 13 June, 1854 at Ål church. Ole and Margit moved to Gjota in Ål parish and eventually, in 1869, to Breidekkene in Gol, Næss, Buskerud, Norway. Martha died there in 1878. Ole married his second wife, Kari Larsdtr Ruud in 1879. About 1893, Ole came to America. He joined a sister and several children living in Rock County, Minnesota, settling at Hardwick. Sometime after 1900 Ole moved to Bruce, South Dakota, where another son, also named Ole lived.
