Mr Olof Svensson, 24, was born 30 May 1887 the son of the late Sven Persson and his wife Hanna Persdotter Svensson, from Björkeberga, Skeinge, Osby, Skåne, Sweden.
Olof Svensson travelled with Eberhard Fischer, also from Björkeberga. Olof's father Swen Persson was dead since 1902 and the mother seems to have been dependent on the son's income.
There is a song about the Olof and Eberhard and it says that they were working "at Skeinge". He got his emigration certificate on 29 March. In the song it is also said that he sent a letter from Southampton on 9 April, the last sign of them. They boarded the Titanic as third class passengers and died in the sinking. Olof's body was never found. In their church book he is noted as "died on Atlantic with S/S Titanick" (sic).
The Mansion House Fund paid 874.08 Kr (£48) to mother 23 January 1913. 1822 Kr (£100) damage claims were paid to the mother.
