Omer Howard Snider (at birth) is the son of Henry Humphrey and Amanda Ellon (Hunt) Snider. The family emigrated to Michigan in about 1898 and settled first at Luther, Lake County. After the death of Henry in 1905, Amanda relocated to Kalamazoo, where Omer met and married Edith Burt. Omer and Edith lived for a short time in or near Owosso, Michigan, then were in Delta County, MI for more than ten years during the 1920's, relocating to Lapeer between 1930 and 1935. Omer died in Berrien County, MI, because at the time he was living with his oldest son, Harold H. Snyder, then of Watervliet.
