Ora Mae Richards Stephens died Tuesday March 5,1991 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital at the age of 80. She was born in Grimsley, the daughter of the late Daniel and Amanda Hogue Richards. She was married to Ealis Stephens who survives. Mrs. Stephens was a member of the Church of Nazarene. She worked as a housewife and had resided in Savannah since 1949. The funeral was Thursday, March 7, at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with burial in Memory Gardens of Hardin County. Carroll Smith officiated. Other than her husband, Rev. Ealis Stephens of Savannah, she leaves five daughters, Mrs. Doris Pledge, Mrs. Lois Alexander, Mrs. Lucille Robinson, Mrs. Donnie Alexander and, Mrs. Nancy Linam, all of Savannah; two sons, Willis Stephens of Adamsville and Bruce Stephens of Adamsville; two brothers, Leonard Richards of Dayton, Ohio, and Albert Richards of Cookeville; 18 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.∼All census records I can find for her have her first name as Ora, with an "R".
