He was a prominent West Virginia football coach.
Married Bessie Baker on May 30, 1906 at Piggin Run, Doddridge, WV
Ora Delbert Underwood, son of William and Landora Ash Underwood, died in Bratton Rest Home, West Union, of cerebral hemorrhage, arteriosclerosis, and generalized hypertension. Informant was Artsel Underwood of West Union. Ora was 73 years of age.
His death record states that he was buried in Underwood Cemetery, Star Rt., West Union, which I believe is the Underwood Cemetery off of Rt. 23, west of Ashley.
Note: Although the Doddridge County Birth Record has Ora's year of birth as 1885 as does his tombstone, both the Death Record and his Death Certificate have 1883.
