Kafil-Hussain Family Name

The family name Kafil-Hussain was linked to Haj Ali son of Hasan son of Mulla Ali Al-Ma'malachi (circa 1810 -1875 AD), when Haj Ali acted as a full guarantor (backer, sponsor or Kafil in Arabic language) to his friend Haj Hussain, the merchant who lost all his capital in a trading activity. Haj Ali paid all Haj Hussain's debts and liabilities to the creditors and maintained Haj Hussain's reputation. People started calling him Haj Ali Kafil-Hussain instead of Hai Ali Al-Ma'malachi. Then, his descendants were known as the family of Kafil-Hussain.
