Otis Bussard, seventy-nine, of 2523 State, died of a heart attack last night shortly after entering the Stadium to watch his son, Robert, participate in Academy High School commencement exercises.
The Erie Fire Department inhalator was summoned to assist Bussard at 6:44 p.m., but he was pronounced dead on their arrival. His body was removed to St. Vincent Hospital pending completion of funeral arrangements.
His daughter, Mary Ann, said her father had suffered from a heart condition for some time and had been retired for many years. He was last employed at Erie Steel Construction Co.
Mary Ann said she and her brother, Thomas, accompanied her mother, Anna, and her father to the graduation exercises. She said her father collapsed just as he entered the Stadium.
Three other sons, Walter, Donald and Frank Bussard, also survive.
