Otis N. Landreth
Funeral services for Otis N. Landreth, 69, of Pollock Pines were held Monday in Chapel of the Pines with interment following in Westwood Hills Memorial Park. The Rev. Don O. Herman of the Placerville First Lutheran Church officiated.
Mr. Landreth died on his way to Marshall Hospital Feb. 13.
Born in Dadeville, Mo., he came to California 35 years ago and was employed as a civillian rigger by the US Navy. He moved to ElDorado county nine years ago.
He was the husband of Verna B. Landreth of Pollock Pines and the brother of Lela Langston, Minta Miller, Lewis Landreth, Leota Carter all of Springfield, Mo., Erma Patterson of Walnut Grove, Mo.; Pearl Passmore of Albuquerque, N.M.; Clifton Landreth of Modesto and Raymond Landreth of Willard, Mo.

Heard over the Back Fence . . .
We hear a lot of people walking away from someone in trouble, so its nice to report when someone sticks with a victim, especially so when the person helping is a teenager. Last Thursday, DAVID BARINEAU, 16, of Pollock Pines found OTIS N. LANDRETH, 69, and also of Pollock Pines lying alongside the roadway of Pony Express Trail. David called the sheriff's department to arrange for an ambulance, notified Mrs. Landreth and stuck with the stricken man until the ambulance arrived. Mr. Landreth was pronounced dead on arrival at Marshall Hospital, apparently the victim of a heart attack, but it must have been a comfort to him knowing that someone cared.
