(son of Otis Terry and Syntha Ruggles). Born March 12, 1818, Worcester, Massachusetts. Came to Utah in October, 1850, captain of one hundred in the Warren Foote company.

   Married:	Fanny Marilla Loveridge October 18, 1842, in Michigan (daughter of Ambrose Loveridge and Philinda Marsh of Pleasant Valley, Oakland county, Michigan), who was born July 8, 1825, and came to Utah with husband.

Their children:
Orson Merritt born January 25, 1845, married Margaret Housekeeper;

           Elizabeth Ann born June 15, 1847, died;

           Emma Jane born December 19, 1849, married John R. Bennion;

           Otis Lysander, Jr., born January 6, 1852, married Sarah Lovenia Howell, married Lydia Ann Butterfield (Middleton), married Mary Johanna Rasmussen;

           Alvin Delos born December 4, 1854, married Salina Marinda Stewart.

Family resided Mill Creek and Union Fort, Utah.

   Married:	Levee Terissa Dancy July 6, 1851, Salt Lake City, who was born September 30, 1830, in Upper Canada.

Hulda Content, married Charles Wilford Terry, married August A. Hjorth;

           Obadiah, died;

           Levee Terissa, married Edmond Stewart;

           Syntha Phylinda, married Ole Lasson;

           Lois Almeda, married Amasa Tucker;

           John Alexander, married Ruth Daniels;

           Ira Judd, died;

           Emily Anna, married Hyrum Partridge.

Family resided Union and Fairview, Utah.

   Married:	Jane Hart November 16, 1851, Salt Lake City.

Their children:
Mary Jane, died;

           Elias Adolphus, married Metta Mary Peterson, married Mary Johanna Rasmussen.

Married: Sarah Vail (Howell) January 27, 1853, Salt Lake City (daughter of Edward Vail of Long Island, New York), who was born June 24, 1818.

Edmond Lysander, married Rebecca Tucker;

           Fanny Marilla, died;

           Charles Alfonzo, married Margerett A. Anderson;

           Celestia Melissa, married Peter Peterson.

Married: Martha Jane Van Valkenburg November 30, 1856, Salt Lake City (daughter of Peter Van Valkenburg), who was born December 7, 1839.

           Margerett Ann, married Heber Harker;

           Martha Maria, died;

           Eugenie Gertrude, married Isaac Allred;

           William Henry, married Selena Beswick; married Lillie A. Searls Barker;

           Andrew Burdell, married Burnetta Taylor;

           Wilford Alonzo, married Emma Hansen.

Families resided Union Fort 1851; North Ogden 1855, during which winter they nearly starved; Fairview, San Pete county, 1860, where he was choir leader, officer high priests quorum, ward teacher, president YMMIA six years; mayor and city councilman. Built canals, wagon roads, saw mills; operated a flour mill many years; grew the first apples; raised first cows, horses and sheep; did extensive farming, and led in building up the community. Died November 16, 1899, Fairview. His posterity number 383 persons. The posterity of Sarah V. H. Terry number 428 persons. Sources:
