Otillia/Otell Bach was born 1608 in Voellerdingen, Bas-Rhin, Alsace, France.[1] It is believed her parents were Adam Bach (1591-1627) and Barbara Hoff (1591-1618) although this is unsourced.
Ottilia married Carl Enßminger and had a number of children. On 16 Oct 1673, Ottilia was executed for witchcraft alongside [2]

- Walpurg (Eberhardt), wife of innkeeper Hans Köppel of Dehlingen
- Gertrud, wife of carpenter Louys Jenin of Dehlingen
- Appolonia, wife of Ulrich Kieffer of Dehlingen
- Margaretha, wife of Anstett Hemmert of Dehlingen
All the accused were beheaded and their bodies burnt.
According to the story recorded by Hertha Wittmer son Daniel went to Kirn Nähe, and Philipp went to Rhodt.

Den 16. Octobris [1673] ist Ottilia Enßmingerin Wittlib sonsten vulgo Gerber=Ottel, Elsbeth, Niclaß Hänels des Unter Portners Frau, beede von hier, item von Dehling Hans Köppels des Würths Weib, namens Walpurg desgleichen, Louys Jenins Frau, Gertrud; auch Ulrich Kieffers Weib Appolonia, und Anstett Hemmerts Frau Margaretha, der Zauberey halben, mit dem Schwert gerichtet, und die Cörper beym Galben verbrannt worden.
Translation: On October 16 [1673], Ottilia Enßminger Wittlib also commonly known as Gerber=Ottel; Elsbeth, Niclaß Hänels the Unter Portner's wife, both from here; also from Dehlingen Hans Köppel the innkeeper's wife, named Walpurg; also Louys Jenin's wife, Gertrud; also Ulrich Kieffer's wife Appolonia; and Anstett Hemmert's wife Margaretha, were executed for witchcraft and their bodies were burned near the gallows.

She is aged 65, and born in Voellerdingen, county of Saarwerden.
Why she is now in front of this court:
Answers she is an honest woman and that only bad people have accused her to have commerce with the devil, and she recuses all the charges against her especially those held by Nickel Kuehn.
How long she had been practicing as a witch:
Answers she had always prayed not to enter into any bad practice.
Result: Has been sent back to her jail for better reflection.
4 August 1673 Sent to question (torture) and follows that she finally has been decided to acknowledge as follows: She had a bad husband (Carl Ensminger) who used to beat her when he was drunk, etc... [one page missing] ...how she had prepared several poisonous drinks from snakes, etc. and poisoned several children in the village; how she had witched horses, cows; same evils in Haspelschiedt in Bitsch land, on cattle, on persons who died soon after, the shepherd in Metting who died one year ago, in Postorff a calf, with help of Lucifer.
