Otto Wilhelm Krogmann

Said to be a very good horseman. My grandfather told a story of a legendary ascent of set of hotel internal stairs on horseback (!) in Ladysmith by his uncle Otto (my great great uncle). He was captured in the Anglo Boer (2nd) by the British for spying (helping the Boers) and imprisoned (I believe in Pietermaritzburg). My brother had a walking stick given to us by my grandfather that his Uncle Otto carved from cow horn and engraved on it was his name 'Otto' in silver. The silver was made from a flattened silver penny (I believe, a coin of the day in South Africa).
