Brief overview:
Oupa, also known as Chom-Chom, and well known South African actor, DJ and media personality, Mandla Hlatshwayo (40), were shot dead during a robbery at Meli Lounge Pub in Pimville, Soweto, on the night of Sunday 14th May 2017.
Oupa and Mandla, were shot after confronting a group of men who had robbed women of their mobile phones. "After seeing this, Hlatshwayo and one of his friends, Oupa "Chom-Chom" Duma, tried to rescue the women, but both of them were shot dead by the robbers."
"Eyewitnesses described how Mandla ran out onto the street after hearing screams. He was shot and fell to the floor. Oupa‚ known as “ChomChom” to locals‚ peered outside the venue to see what was happening and was also gunned down."
