Owry Quillian Fraley

Owry Quillian Fraley was born to James Oscar and Mary Fraley on June 4, 1876, at Whitescreek, West Virginia. He died on Sept. 24, 1961, at the age of 85 years, 3 months, 20 days.

He married Mattie Florence Davenport on October 19, 1911. To this union was born one son, Jayo, and five daughters: Irene, Mrs. Ed Reed, and Ina May, Mrs. Howard Reed, both of Belleville; Ilo, Mrs. Melvin Crouse of Chester; Nellie Lew, Mrs. Don Eickman of Belleville; and Betty June, Mrs. E.W. Corbit of Battle Creek, Nebr.

He was baptized in 1893, and became a member of the Methodist Church of Chester.

Mr. Fraley was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Charles C. Fraley.

He is survived by his wife, six children, 24 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren; one sister, Cora Wessel, two brothers, Wm. H. and Geo. Fraley, all of Chester, plus many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Sept. 27 at the Chester Methodist Church, the Rev. Thomas Perkins in charge. Mrs. Maurice Mitchell sang, accompanied by Mrs. Floyd Haifleigh. Casket bearers were Richard Fraley, Jerry Fraley, Wilbur Mussman, Vernon White, Duane Fraley, Don Fraley. Interment was made in the Chester Cemetery. Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart, Inc., Funeral Service was in charge of arrangements.
