About P/O. Douglas Moultrie
Douglas Moultrie was born in England [BDM-Eng #V8b/P1275], the son of George Moultrie and of Isabella Cartmer Moultrie (nee Little). The family emigrated to New Zealand and lived in St. Albans in Christchurch. Douglas attended Christchurch Technical College.

Douglas was a navigator during World War I. He was killed on active service, dying from exposure after his plane ditched in the English Channel returning to England after a bombing mission in France. The plane had suffered extensive damage from flak.
