Pablo Bautista Orig

Mayor Pablo Orig was beheaded by the Japanese after they have learned that he was pro guerrilla. It was a practice then by the Japanese to bomb suspected guerrilla camps at dawn - and Mayor Pablo Orig is responsible in informing the guerrilla of the bomb target areas the next morning, so the guerrillas encamping the areas can still move out. He was beheaded on a bridge, his body thrown over the river. That his son, Fausto Orig with a companion came back that night to pull him out of the water, dug his grave with bare hands and bury him .. The bridge was later named after him.
