Patience Andrews

Per The Genealogical History of John and Mary Andrews of Farmington, CT / 1640s {googlebooks}, Benjamin Andrews and his first wife, Patience Byington, had one son (Patience died about 2 weeks after his birth). He was BERIAH ANDREWS, born 9th February, 1774, at Southington, CT. He married 15th March 1795, Annis Carrington, daughter of Jesse, who was born 21th June 1774.

Beriah learned the tinner's trade of his father, and lived near the east line of Southington, east of the present house of Charles Moore, on the north side of the road. The house was small, and has disappeared. He died of fever 2nd October 1826, aged 53 years. His widow, Mrs. Annis Andrews, died 6th March 1840, aged 65 years, 8 months, 12 days. Beriah was somewhat erratic in mind and manners, which afforded some anecdotes and observations in his day. Josiah Andrews, who was appointed administrator to his father [Benjamin]'s estate, was also made guardian to [his brother] Beriah in 1788, when Beriah was 14, and he (Beriah) had a portion of his father's estate when distributed in 1786. Beriah's widow, Annis, was admitted to the Congregational Church in Southington, 5th October, 1817.

• 1416. Julia, born 2nd December 1798; baptized 4th January 1818; married 12th April 1820, Augustus Goodsell.
• 1417. Laura, born___ ; baptized 4th January 1818; married 3rd January, 1822, Ira Lewis, of Bristol.
• 1418. William, born 23rd February 1806; baptized 4th January 1818; married 23d October, 1828, Theodocia Evans.
