F10 Deacon William Locke, b. Hampton, Apl. 17, 1677, m. Nov. 23, 1699. Hannah Knowles of Kingston, dau. of John and Jemima (Austin). She b. Hampton, Apl. 18, 1678, d. in Rye, Sept. 12, 1769, aged 91. He was on various petitions 1717-21-26; was a selectman in 1726, and called Lieut. William; was a moderator in 1743. He bought land on the way from Sandy Beach to Greenland, 1723-4, and gave it to his son Jonathan in 1728. In 1723 he bought land at Portsmouth Plains. William, a shopkeeper of Portsmouth, bought land on northwest side of the road from "Ye Bank to Greenland." June 30, 1728, he bought land in Rye called "Ye Island of ye Pond once called Locke's Hole." He sold land in Rye in 1751, and died there Jan. 22, 1768, aged 91.

F50 Patience Locke, b. in Rye, 1711, m. Nov. 16, 1749, Noah Moulton, b. in Hampton, Feb. 23, 1705, son of Daniel and Mary; he lived in Rye, served under Captain Francis Locke at the Fort, 1746, and about 1770 removed to Lyman, at a place now known as Moulton's hill. She was received into the Greenland Church in 1719, and a Rye record says Patience Locke (not Moulton) d. May 11, 1755. Credit has been given to Patience Locke for the sterling qualities inherited by many of her descendants among this large and influentail family. Noah had a nephew b. 1726, sometimes given as husband of Patience, but I think it is the older one.
