REMARKS: two children by Robin Filmer Wilson
BIOGRAPHY Pat Richards was the daughter of an Australian sheep rancher, in 1931 at seventeen she had come to London to be with her mother to make her debut and shortly before her eighteenth birthday married the twenty-one-year-old Earl of Jersey in what was considered the marriage of the year.
They had one daughter and in 1937 the marriage was formally dissolved. London society abuzz with rumours of the earl's relationship with a movie actress. That same year Patricia married Robin Filmer Wilson, with whom she had two more children. About 1943 Wilson was a major in the British army stationed in Libya. Patricia had not seen her husband for two years, and couldn't expect to see him until the war was over.
Late in 1943 William Randolph Hearst Jr., a war correspondent, invited Lady Sykes and Patricia Wilson for dinner at the Savoy where they were joined by Kathleen Kennedy and her brother Joe Kennedy Jr. and later on were joined by General Robert Laycock and his wife Angie. Joe Jr. cared nothing about the British general's disdainful glances. The man was nothing to him, and he went right on talking to Patricia Wilson, giving an enthusiastic yes when she invited him and some of his friends to spend a weekend at her country home. They soon began a fervent affair
