About Patrick Maxwell of Stanley
PATRICK MAXWELL OF STANLEY
Patrick Maxwell of Stanley is the son of Sir Robert Maxwell of Calderwood and his first wife Elizabeth Danielston. According to William Fraser: "Patrick Maxwell appears to have died without issue, as the lands and barony of Stanley soon afterwards became the patrimony of Archibald Maxwell, younger son of George Maxwell, nephew of this Patrick, and the first of Newark."
