Patrick Markey, his wife Bridget and 2 children, Bernard, Mary & Catherine departed Liverpool 8 Jan 1853, arriving in Hobart 27 April.
The family had been sponsored by James Salter, Jnr, Free Settler "Harvey" 1825 of Fenton Forest. The Markey's were indentured to Salter for 12 months.
Jame's son, Bernard, married Charlotte Ransley, the daughter of Mary Ransley, the sister of James Salter Jnr
Patrick was convicted of sheep stealing in 1858 and sentenced to 4 yrs 'penal servitude'.
