There are several questions with regard to the history of Patrick:

By some accounts, Elizabeth Stroud was the widow of David Stroud who died in 1760. Dennis and Jesse were born circa 1760 so the timeline is kind of tight. If she was a widow to David Stroud, then we do not know her surname. Also if she was the widow of David Stroud who lived in America, then Patrick would have had to immigrate by 1760 in order for Elizabeth Stroud to be the mother of Dennis and Jesse. The next child was Mary Perry born in 1765. Elizabeth Stroud may not have been the first wife

By another account, Elizabeth Stroud was born in South Berstead, Sussex, England; the daughter of Richard Stroud. There is no record found of Patrick, Elizabeth, and children immigrating together, so they may have immigrated separately, married, and then had children. For Elizabeth Stroud to be the first wife, they would have had to be together by 1760 to be the mother of Dennis and Jesse, or she was not the first wife.

By other accounts, Elizabeth Stroud is born in Granville, North Carolina. Patrick would have had to immigrate before 1760 for Elizabeth to be the mother of Dennis and Jesse, or she was not the first wife.

There is evidence that Dennis, William, John Allen, Joseph, Philip and Mary Perry are his children; whether Jesse is his child is less evident. He appears in some family trees, but in others, he does not and there does not appear to be any other corroborating evidence other than he was from Granville and might be the son of Patrick.
