ALBANY, N.Y. - Paul H. Phelps, Jr., 72, of Myrtle Ave., died Tuesday at St. Peter's Hospital after being stricken at his home. Born in Hampton, Washington County, he lived in Menands as a child and later moved to Albany, where he lived most of his life. He retired from Freihofer Baking Co. 10 years ago after serving as a salesman for 35 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and as an athlete at Watervliet High School, set many records in track and field in the 1920s.
