Paul immigrated to Little Falls, Morrison, Minnesota, US, about 1889 and lived there at least until the January 1920 census. The family later lived in Saint Cloud, Stearns, Minnesota, where his wife died during 1924, but Paul was a widower living in St. Otto's Nursing Home in Little Falls during the April 6, 1940 census.

Various incorrect spellings of Wielinski were used by this family from Minnesota census to census, such as Valinski and Vilinski, but they eventually settled on Vielinski used on their gravestones.
