Message from Delores LaPratt dated 6 May 2021: Paulette Desjarlais married Lizette Bruneau and then Betsy Cardinal. Paulette Desjarlais filed a "Half-Breed" scrip claim # 582 which can be accessed at Library and Archives Canada. In his scrip claim, Paulette Desjarlais states that he and Lizette Bruneau were married in 1852 in Edmonton and then to Betsy Cardinal in 1868 at Lac La Biche. However, Paulette Desjarlais and Lizette Bruneau were married at Lac La Biche Mission on May 7, 1854. Bruneau was spelled 'Bruno" in the church record. No parents were given for the marriage of Paulette Desjarlais and Lizette Bruneau. The marriage record for Paulette Desjarlais and Betsy Cardinal is under the names: "Paulet Desjarlais" and "Bethsy Cardinal". Betsy Cardinal's parents are listed as "late Louison Cardinal and Susane Courte-Oreille". They were married on April 13, 1869.
