About Pauline Jane Erdly
Pauline Jane (Bair) Erdly, 93, of Wolf Lake, passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005 at 2:25 a.m. in Avalon Village, Ligonier.
Born Dec. 18, 1911 in Allen County, she was the daughter of Irvin Pius and Emma Rozilla (Hissong) Bair. On Nov. 4, 1938, she married Evart Faye Erdly. They were married for 40 years.
She graduated from Cromwell High School in 1930 and from Epworth School of Nursing in South Bend in 1935. From college she began her nursing career at Luckey Hospital in Wolf Lake, where she remained until the opening of the Wolf Lake Medical Clinic in 1962. She retired from Wolf Lake Medical Clinic, having worked for over 50 years in nursing. Her love, devotion and pride for nursing allowed her to continue giving to the Wolf Lake community in many ways for several years. She met her husband Evart while working at Luckey Hospital.
She was a member of Wolf Lake United Methodist Church, Noble County Home Extension Club, Indiana Nursing Association and the Wolf Lake VFW, Post 4714, Ladies Auxiliary. In her early years of retirement, she developed a love for painting and had a large gallery of beautiful pictures which she had painted through the years. In addition, she loved to watch birds.
Survivors include: four sons and two daughters-in-law, William E. Erdly of Albion, Charles E. Erdly of Linton, Jimmy L. and Norma Erdly of Kimmell, and David L. and Sherry Erdly of Albion; one son-in-law Fred Colen of Wolf Lake; a sister Katherine Brazel of Ligonier; a brother Arthur Bair of Upland; nine grandchildren, Anita (Erdly) Woodward of Linton, Lisa (Erdly) Parichia of Indianapolis, Kimberly (Erdly) Coffman of Albion, Paulette (Erdly) Lannon of Linton, Katie Erdly of Albion, Tony Erdly of Jasonville, Timothy and Todd Erdly of Fort Wayne, and David (D.J.) Erdly of Albion; 11 great-grandchildren, Zachary and Katelyn Knafel, Cory Erdly, Justin and Taylor Erdly, Allison Woodward, Brandy and Whitney West, and Braxton, Brantlie and Braymon Lannon; and one great-great grandson Judson Miller.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Evart, who passed away in 1978, a daughter Kayanne J. (Erdly) Colen in 1998, two sisters, Levanche Kugler and Alice Mynhier, a brother Howard Bair and a granddaughter Tamera L. Erdly in 1965.
Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Ulrey-Renner Funeral Home, Ligonier, with the Rev. Don Poyser officiating. Burial will be in Wolf Lake Cemetery.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Aug 12 2022, 22:38:15 UTC
