Pauline Pitzele

The exact relationship between Pauline and the rest of the family is uncertain. There is no birth record in Stropkov births. She was on the boat manifest for Rosie Steif, listed as Betti, and Steif is her maiden name in her marriage certificate. The Department of Health death certificate doesn't list maiden name or parentage.

Perhaps she was not an actual daughter, but some other kind of relative who was taken in by the family.

Pauline is buried at Waldheim Jewish cemetery. No family information available. Grave located at Gate 18, lot 10, section 3, row 10, grave 1. Also buried in the plot are Mandel Pitzele (husband), Tillie Pitzele, his second wife,- Hannah and Joseph Goodfriend, Tillie's parents, and Gertrude Pitzele Stein, one of Tillie's daughters.
