About Pearl Mae Bode
OWATONNA — Pearl Mae Bode, 84, of Owatonna died Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Traditions of Owatonna.
Pearl was born Jan. 14, 1929, in Nicollet, Minn., the daughter of Wilbert and Emma (Becker) Bode. At a young age, she moved with her family to Dodge Center and there she attended school. She was united in marriage to A. Duane Petersburg in 1949 and the couple farmed North of Claremont. There she found fulfilment as a mother and homemaker. She also worked at area supper clubs including the Hubble House in Mantorville, Jerry's Supper Club and the old Scotch Hearth in Owatonna. The couple divorced in 1975.
In the early 80's, Pearl moved to Arizona where she worked at retail gift shops. After retirement she moved back to Minnesota. Pearl was a very social lady. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends over the telephone and liked being around the company of family and friends, especially if it included playing cards.
She is survived by her children John (and Susan) Petersburg of Waseca, Mary Jones of Casa Grande, Ariz., Cherrie (and Tom) Osborne of Glendale, Ariz., Bob (and Becky) Boeck of New London, Wis.; a brother Allen Bode of Brooklyn Center; a sister Evelyn Heinlein of Oviedo, Fla.; nine grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and seven step-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Michaelson Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service in the church. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Dean Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Dodge Center.
