The parentage of Peder Jonsen Sandsmork is based on speculation rather than evidence. "Heskestad sokn: gard, ætt og folk" suggests that the father of Peder Jonsen Sandsmork (no. 20) may have been Jon Sigmundsen Sandsmark, but also notes that there are facts that makes such a theory unlikely. The same source (no. 15) also notes that many of the presumed children of Jon Sigmundsen Sandsmark, including the possible child Peder Jonsen Sandsmork, may have been children of Jon Assersen Sandsmork. Yet, under Jon Assersen Sandsmork (no. 18) there is no mention of such a family connection. "Heskestad sokn: gard, ætt og folk" (Sandsmark, 20. Peder Jonson Sandsmark, pp. 438-439) also suggests that Peder Jonsen Sandsmork may have originated from Grøsareid or Støla, i.e. that the father may have been Jon Jakobsson Støla/ Grøsareid; see: Grøssareid, 5. "Heskestad sokn: gard, ætt og folk" seems reasonably convinced that the wife of Peder Jonsen Sandsmork was a daughter of Sigmund Helgesen Sandsmork, who was also the father of Jon Sigmundsen Sandsmark; making it quite unlikely that the latter could have been the father of Peder Jonsen Sandsmork.
