About Penrose M Drews

Penrose was just 14 years old when he was called as a witness for the defense in the infamous trial of the Blue Eyed Six, one of whom, Charles Drews, was his father. His testimony largely refuted earlier claims made by his sister, Magdalena, and her husband, Joseph Peters.

27 Dec 1937: Seven hours after funeral services had been held for his wife, Emma, Penrose Drews, of 2018 Church Street, died at his home last night at nine o'clock. Mrs. Drews died last Wednesday, and was 75 years old and Mr. Drews was 72 years old. Services were held for Mrs. Drews at two o'clock Sunday afternoon at Rohland's Funeral Parlors with Rev. E.E. Bender, pastor of West Lebanon United Brethren Church officiating. Interment was made in Ebenezer Cemetery. Bearers were Ernest Kohr, Wallace Eberly, Edwin Urspring, Charles Eberly, Harry Reddinger, and George Fittery. Mr. Drews is survived by the following children: Harry, Sinking Springs; Frank, Ebenezer; Mrs. Elmer Kohr, Green Point; Mrs. William Weber, Annville; Mrs. Levi Eckert, Palmyra; Mrs. Andrew Fields, Tunnel Hill Farms; and Mrs. Henry Missimer, West Lebanon. 24 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren also survive.
