Educated at Elizabeth College 1891-4; College No. 2642; also at Eastman's Royal Naval Academy, Winchester 1895-6; Sherborne School 1896-9; Royal Military College, Sandhurst 1901; posted as 2nd Lieutenant, Royal Fusiliers 1902; served in Burma and India; transferred to Indian Army to 31st Punjabis in 1904; Captain 1911; Major 1917; A.D.C to G.O.C. 1st Peshawar Division and 3rd Lahore Division 1912-13; various commands and raising of new units 1915-19; posted to command 3/16th Punjab Regiment 1922; retired with rank of Lieut.-Colonel 1924.

Notes for Doris Violet (Spouse 1)

Doris was born on the 27th April 1889, and was the first child and eldest daughter of Ernest Laurie Robinson and his wife Beatrice.

She married Percival Gaussen Carey of the Frogmore branch of the Carey family of Guernsey, on the 30th January 1913.

She and her husband were in Guernsey during the German Occupation. Her mother was living with her during this period, and, on the island being relieved, they both flew to England.

She died on the 8th December 1982, aged 93.
