1871 census Brockville Hannah McNish, 55, b Ontario, living Brockville, Centre Ward, Baptist, Milliner, Microfilm C-10002, Page 49.

Says name is different to that of the head of household. To see who she is living with you will have to order the film either from your local library or the LDS library (faster). Your local library may already have a copy. I looked under McNish and Roberts (see Harriet's marriage below) but no luck.

1881 census Montague, Lanark South McNISH Hannah, married, 60, b Ontario Georgina, 24, b Ont, seamstress Adam, 22, b Ont, factory hand All Methodist. These look like the same people. 1881 census on www.familysearch.org Looks like Peregrin died in the 1860s.

1901 census Brockville McNISH, Georgina, f, head, 31 Jul 1864, 36, b Ont Hannah, f, lodger, widow, 3 Aug 1815, Ont. I think occupation for Georgina says 'retired' but writing is very faint.

Georgina gets married in 1907 (see below) There are some more McNish names on census for Brockville 1911 on www.automatedgeneaogy.com

They will likely be on 1911 census.

Marriage: ancestry.ca James McNish, 32, b Ont, living Bracebridge, sawyer, parents: Hanah & Peregrin McNish, married Catherine Carlton? ( writing is very faint), 28, 22 Dec 1891 or 1892 at Dalton, Victoria County.

Frank White, 50, widow, farmer, Lyn, Brockville, s/o Henry (White) & Ruth Kirkhiede, married Harriet Roberts, 46, widow, Delta, Brockville, d/o Peregrine McNish & Hannah Everetts, witn: A Perry and Ida Colborne both of Brockville, 1 Dec 1897 at Brockville.

No record of Adam on 1901 census.

There's a note on the Grenville=Leeds message board. Perregrine McNish is my gggrandfather. in 1848 he was living in Augusta township, as listed on the 1848 Johnston District census microfilm #M5909 page 89. http://boards.ancestry.ca/localities.northam.canada.ontario.glengar...
