About Pete Klingberg
Among the immigrants who arrived to Salem, South Dakota, in 1881 from Sweden was the family of Pete J Klingberg from Asker, Örebro County. The next year H Erickson and family moved to the area. So did other families . Christian services were begun in the homes in the spring of 1882. Two reverends lead workship services when they visited the area. This was the beginning of Salem Evangelical Mission Covenant Church.
