About Peter Carl Bosiak
Peter Carl Bosiak Jr. was born on November 23, 1945. Following a rather lengthy stay in high school and particulary inspired by his history teacher, Peter made his way to Peterborough Teacher's College, where he graduated in 1968. Following several years of teaching in Kingston and a year spent playing hockey and travelling in Europe, he returned to Stirling. While teaching at the Junior and Senior Elementary Schools, Peter completed his Honour's History degree at Queen's University. He was married to Barbara Joan Barker on March 20, 1976 and they have two daughters. Elizabeth Ann (Beth) was born in 1979 and Nicole Marie Lucretia in 1981.
Although a hockey, golf, and football player, Peter's favourite sport to coach was volleyball. He was very fortunate to have coached a number of great young athletes at the elementary, secondary, club and regional levels.
In addition to teaching, Peter managed a strawberry operation for 20 years on land the family continues to own in the village. The whol family pitched in and the long hours Beth and Nicole spent at "The Patch" helped fund their university studies. Peter retired from teaching in 1999.
