About Peter William Eggers
Will Eggers, longtime resident of Pipestone County, who had been in failing health for the past two years due to leukemia, passed away shortly after being brought to Ashton Memorial Hospital at the age of 76 years, 5 months, and 13 days.
Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at 1:30 o'clock at his home in Jasper and at 2:00 o'clock at Trinity Lutheran Church in Jasper followed by burial in Woodlawn Cemetery in Pipestone.
Peter William Eggers was born at Heide, Holstein, Germany on April 17, 1867. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith, Lutheran tradition. In 1882 he came to America and settled in Davenport, IA with his family. In 1884 they relocated to Dysart, IA. In the year 1893 he moved with his parents to Minnesota and settled on a farm in Sweet Township, Pipestone County. He was married to Anna D. Jessen on February 28, 1894, and they resided on his farm until the fall of 1919 when they moved to Pipestone and made their home for eight years. They then moved to Ellensburg, WA for a few years relocating to Jasper in 1934.
He is survived by his widow; two sons: Will, Jr. of Redding, CA and Harry of Seattle, WA; two daughters: Mrs. Gus Hinz (Margaret) of Pipestone, MN and Mrs. Louis Conrad (Hilda) of Holland, MN. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. John Oye (Hanna) of Luverne, MN; 14 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
