So far, from the actual records we have as probable brothers and sisters of the emigrant generation of Woods,: Michael, Samuel, Andrew, William, Nathan, John, Sarah (married Davis Stockton) and Elizabeth Woods (married Samuel Wallace, Esq.--chronically mis-identified as “Peter Sr.”, [disputed] but was a widow when she arrived) and we don’t know who David Woods--pew holder along with Nathan, William and Samuel--was. We also don’t know who Adam and George Woods were, who arrived as “brothers” in Lancaster County in 1747, from a county history, or who was Thomas Woods, who arrived, or came of age, just before 1744 ...
the name is NOT Samuel Wallace. It is indeed Peter Wallace sr..born 1680 died 1723. Peter Wallace Jr is born 1719 died by 23 mar 1786. the Sr and Jr addition to their names was to separate the two from being confused.
Mariage: Dunshanglin Castle, Meath, Ireland

THE TRUE STORY OF THE WALLACE FAMILY OF ALBEMARLE COUNTY
In the numerous genealogical essays on the Wallace Family that settled in Albemarie County, Virginia, early in the 18th century there are many different versions that have appeared at different times indifferent sources. All of these have been carefully considered by the writer of these lines, and none of these accepted as being authentic, since they all contradict each other and disclose total lack of any sortof proof. One or more of them go so far as to agree that the ancestorwas Peter Wallace, but that he never came to this country, or is he didthat his is buried in Pennsylvania. The Peter Wallace who actually wasthe ancestor, is probably in some forgotten unmarked grave in either Yorkor warwick Counties in Virginia.
Rev. Edgar Woods, who wrote the History of Albemarle County,Virginia in 1900-50 years ago-was the grandson of Archibald Woods, and adirect kinsman of these Wallaces and he has written what we consider themost harmonious and accurate account and the shortest that appearsanywhere. It appears on pages 336 and 337 of his valuable volume, and isas follows:
Three brothers named Wallace came to Virginia with Michael woods ashis sons in law, about 1734. They were Peter, Andrew and William(Wallace). Peter married Martha Woods and settled in Rockbridge County. He was the father af Adam and Andrew Wallace, who displayed greatgallantry in the battle of Cuilford, Courthouse; the latter yielding uphis life on that field. The other brothers remained in Albemarle.Andrew Wallace married Margaret Woods. His home was near Ivey Depot, onpart of the Charles Hudson entry, where Charles Harper afterwardsresided. He died in 1785. His Children were:
1. Michael Wallace
2. Samuel Wallace
3. Elizabeth Wallace m: Wm. Briscoe
4. Mary Wallace m: Al Henderson
5. Hannah Wallace
6. Susan Wallace m: Thomas Collins
7. Margaret Wallace m: William Ramsey
