Married (1) Jane Eve Dawson (1760 – 1802) about 1788. They were the parents of (at least):

• Elizabeth "Betsey" ZIEGLER 1788 – 1869
• JACOB ZIEGLER 1791 – 1868 Peter ZIEGLER Jr 1794 – 1840

"Born about 1760, reputedly in York County. In 1810 and during the war of 1812, Peter Ziegler conducted a hotel at Earleytown. Later removed to Abdera and from there to Flemington, Clinton county where he died.

Buried in the now abandoned Presbyterian cemetery near Lock Haven. No trace of the grave remains, the grave stones having been carted away."
