Petrus Johannes Kotze, owned the Leeuwenhof estate in Cape Town. Judge J. G Kotze's Father P. J. Kotze represented Cape Town in 2 Parliaments, as Member of the House of Assembly and was also twice Mayor of Cape Town.


PJK begin sy loopbaan as sakeman, maar koop die "La Belle Alliance" (deel landgoed Leeuwenhof), teen oostelike deel van Leeukop, Kaapstad in c 1839 en begin boer. In c 1848 word hy eienaar van die hele "Leeuwenhof" landgoed, maar woon eers daar vanaf c 1854, lid van die Wetgewende Vergadering en burgemeerster van Kaapstad gedurende 1879-1880. Verhuis in c 1881 na Kloofstraat, Kaapstad.
