Phillip "Phil" Scott (born August 4, 1958) is an American politician who is the Governor-elect of Vermont. A Republican, he won the 2016 general election with over 52% of the vote. He is the current Lieutenant Governor of Vermont, an office he has held since 2011. Previously, he was a Vermont State Senator representing the Washington County Senate District from 2001 through 2011. He is the co-owner of DuBois Construction, a small construction business located in Middlesex, Vermont.
