Philemon Prescott

Biography

Philemon Prescott was born on Jan. 13, 1728/9 and baptized on Sept. 30, 1730 in Hampton Falls, New Hampshire. He was the son of Benjamin and Mehitable (Dalton) Prescott[1]

Philemon married Elizabeth Taylor about 1751/2. They had 11 children, 10 daughters and 1 son, as follows:

2) Susannah, b. April 20, 1754
3) Elizabeth, b. May 27, 1757
4) Martha, b. Jan. 27, 1760
5) Eunice, b. Feb. 27, 1762
6) Rachel, b. March 26, 1764
7) Mary, b. May 15, 1766
8) Abigail, b. March 1, 1768
9) Hannah, b. March 29, 1770
10) Mark, b. May 30, 1771
11) Nancy, b. July 27, 1772
Elizabeth, Philemon's wife and mother of all of his children, died on August 15, 1772, likely from complications from childbirth she having just given birth to their 11th child, Nancy, b. July 27, 1772. Philemon died a widower about 2 years later on June 12, 1774.
