Cited by The Waters DNA Project as having a father Philemon, born c. 1685, and a mother Mary (birth name unknown). https://web.archive.org/web/20150418014130/http://www.worldfamilies...
Negative evidence, to the effect, that he is no descendant of William Waters and Dorothy Marriott, is provided by a Chancery lawsuit that ran from 1717 to 1747, enumerating said descendants. The name "Philemon" is nowhere found. http://jeanday1.tripod.com/Waters_William_Sons_Lawsuit.htm
Further evidence, both positive and negative, was provided by Y-DNA testing which showed that the Philemon Waters line is *not* a match to the John Waters of Anne Arundel line (and by extension probably not to the Edward Waters line of the Eastern Shore either - the John and Edward lines are believed to be related).
