About Philip Hager
Johannes Philip Hager was born January 18, 1730 in Hesse-Cassel, Germany. He emigrated as a child with his parents to America, arriving in Pennsylvania c.1732, and then settling in New Jersey. He adopted the English name Phillip. He married Sarah (unk) before 1760 and raised a large family. At some point the family moved to first Augusta County ant then to Tazewell Conty, Virginia. He died in Tazewell County in 1807.

- Jacob Hager, 1760-1850, married Sarah French
- Phillip Hager, Jr. 1765-1843, married (1) Mary Garrett and (2) Catherine (unk)
- Isaac Hager, born 1774 in Virginia
- Michael Hager, 1775-1844, settled in Ross County, Ohio
- Barthena Dial Hager, 1775-before 1880, died Lincoln Co. West Virginia
- Andrew Hager, born 1784 in Virginia
- Catherine Hager, born 1788 in Virginia - one source says Buck Co., PA, but this is unlikely
- Abraham Hager, born 1795 in Virginia
