From "Memorials of the Descendants of William Shattuck" Lemuel Shattuck 1855:

"Dr. Philip Shattuck, s. of William was b. in Watertown, and d. within the present limits of Waltham, June 26, 1722, aged 73. His place of residence was in the vicinity of the Waverly Station on the Fitchburg Railroad, easterly of Beaver Brook; and his estate extended northerly into Cambridge. He was a physician of eminence, and for a long period a leading man in the public affairs of the town. He was often chosen moderator of town meetings, and held the offices of assessor, town treasurer, chairman of the selectmen, and very may other important stations of public trust and responsibility.

He m. 1 Nov, 1670, Beborah Barstow, dau. of William and Anna Barstow. She d. Nov 24, 1679. Wm, Barstow, the father d. in Dedham, Jan 1, 1668 leaving a widow and 8 children.

He m. 2 Feb, 1680, Rebecca Chamberlain, who survived him and d. in 1728."
